Testing Membrane Element

Watersurplus can provide your company on-site membrane element cleaning services using one of our portable clean in place units (CIP) or an existing on-site CIP skid and standard cleaning procedures. Our field service technicians are trained to provide the on-site labor required or we can supervise your personnel, along with providing the necessary cleaning chemicals to perform an on-site membrane element cleaning. If on-site cleaning is not an option, Watersurplus has a float of over 1000 reconditioned membranes that we can provide to you, while we clean and restore your elements off-site.

The results of off-site cleaning can further increase membrane life and improve operational performance of your reverse osmosis elements. Our off-site membrane element cleaning facility provides enhanced cleaning techniques by isolating each element. By extending the cleaning cycle time and temperatures, we can achieve optimal performance recovery of each reverse osmosis membrane element. Additionally, we can provide consulting to minimize future membrane element fouling through system optimization. Our review can include an analysis of your current feed water pretreatment, overall system design and operation, chemical feed and antiscalants, membrane selection, and when required, we can perform a detailed membrane element autopsy.

Watersurplus Cleaning Program:

  • Determination of the proper cleaning chemicals, dosage rates and sequences
  • Evaluation of feed water analysis and operation data prior to fouling
  • In-house experimentation and analytical diagnostic testing, as required
  • 10%-100% of the elements pre- and post-tested
  • Elements bagged, boxed, palletized and (upon request) preserved
  • Report issued with membranes
If membrane cleaning is not a cost effective option, Watersurplus can provide pricing for new reverse osmosis elements for replacement. Watersurplus has a membrane trade in program to lower your cost of new membrane replacement.

Testing Resin

Watersurplus recommends periodic testing of your resin to ensure your system operates efficiently, saving your company chemical, water, waste water, and labor cost.

A simple or detailed test can be performed to determine if your resin has lost its capacity and or is fouled. Testing your resin begins with gathering a sample. Watersurplus will provide you with a resin kit for gathering the sample using your own site personnel, or if you prefer, we can arrange for our service technician to assist you in the sampling process. This sample is sent to one of our state-of-the-art outsourced and accredited laboratory sites.

In addition, Watersurplus will evaluate your ion exchange resin and overall system performance. We can offer you an analysis of chemical, and water savings along with projected paybacks by considering reverse osmosis technologies in conjunction with your existing demineralizer.

Testing Water

Watersurplus can help determine your water testing requirements needed to design and engineer a new system, or to trouble shoot your existing plant. If your plant is not performing at 100%, contact us to discuss how we can work to solve your problems through a complete audit of your operations.

The first step to optimizing your water plant is analyzing and understanding your feed water. Call us to help you determine what tests are required to optimize your plant's operation.
